Pan-Asian cuisine
Moderate prices

Miami Herald reviewer Rochelle Koff recently gave Dapur 2.5 stars out of four stars. Some excerpts:

... huge, hip space in a tiny strip of stores on U.S.1 ... a vibrant, vibey scene... looks like the hot new destination in town... The young and beautiful are here... sexy hostesses (I'd be surprised if anyone older than 30 is employed here) and loud, clubby music... Dapur, which is the Indonesian word for kitchen, has an extensive menu that specializes in dishes from Southeast Asia but casts a wider net... On two visits, we barely scratched the surface, but found both hits and misses... Thai pancakes filled with green mussels and eggs in a tempura shell and garnished with scallions and bean sprouts were flavorful though a little greasy... Rolls are elaborate affairs, including the crunchy eel, pairing smoked eel with crab and cream cheese in an avocado wrapping and a light tempura crunch — fresh and rich, it's crowd-pleasing sushi... Next time, we'd skip the grilled whole calamari, served in slices but pretty chewy with a so-so ginger soy sauce... Crispy duck was a winner, the meat juicy and tender, served with Chinese broccoli and a kicky chile sauce... go for the passionfruit pie or the coconut ice cream with a swirl of mango sorbet, served in a coconut shell...
