FORT LAUDERDALE, FL United Way of Broward County was proud to host the first annual Wine, Women & Shoes event which took place on Thursday, March 27th at the Gallery of Amazing Things in Dania Beach. The spectacular event provided an opportunity for key influencers, fashion tastemakers and charity supporters to come together and support the local community.  Wine, Women & Shoes raised more than $80,000 and will continue to serve as one of the organization’s main fundraisers for years to come.

“Wine Women & Shoes provided the perfect opportunity for our community to come together for a fun and stylish evening, that even more importantly supports our neighbors in need,” said Kathleen Cannon, President & CEO of United Way of Broward County. “The dollars that we raised during Wine Women & Shoes will be used to fund critical United Way initiatives such as MISSION UNITED, Project Lifeline and Reading Pals.”

As they arrived, guests were greeted by “Sole Men”, local male volunteers who presented the latest shoe styles on silver trays and shared fun facts about the art of wine and shoe pairing.  Everyone enjoyed a fabulous fashion show which featured the latest collections in women’s wear and ultra-fashionable high heels from top local fashion designers including Julian Chang, Kayce Armstrong of Art of Shade, Fabrizio de Castro, Crystal 4 U and Tiffany Chimere. The fashion show was produced by Sobol-Perry Fashion Productions, best known for the development and implementation of Miami Fashion Week®. Guests also enjoyed wine tastings from eight wineries from around the world.

Broward Health was the presenting sponsor for the event. Additional sponsors included JM Family Enterprises, Inc.; Southeast Toyota Distributors; Consolidated Credit Counseling Services; Publix Super Market Charities; Memorial Healthcare Systems; Acure; Lauderdale BMW of Fort Lauderdale; One Sotheby’s International Realty; Liz Langenskamp; Morrison, Brown, Argiz and Farra, LLC; Tanya Bower; Lifestyle Magazine; Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills and CA Catering.
