FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – It’s Better On The Beach, a marketing umbrella for Fort Lauderdale Beach's local landmark establishments including Spazio, Tsukuro, Sangrias, St. Barts Café, Blondies and Rock Bar, kicks off its celebration of summer with a launch party for its new and innovative summer events programming FAME. The party, held in conjunction with the summer issue release party for Fort Lauderdale magazine, will take place Thursday, July 2 from 7pm-9pm at Spazio Italian Restaurant and Wine Lounge located at 239 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. 

FAME, which stands for “Food/Fashion. Art. Music. Entertainment.,” strives to shine a light on Fort Lauderdale Beach as a destination for locals and visitors looking to engage with local artists, experience the beach’s unique and eclectic culture and well-established and still growing dining scene. The program will spotlight arts and entertainment events as well as culinary and beverage promotions. 

“Our local community tends to enjoy the beach during the day, but after sunset many travel back over the bridge to Las Olas and the Downtown Arts districts for dinner and entertainment,” says It’s Better On The Beach CEO AJ Yaari. “With FAME, our goal is to highlight the vibrant, food, art, music and entertainment options which abound, and start making the connection as an area beyond traditional beach activities.” 

Sponsored by Spazio, Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum and Peroni Beer, the evening will feature Shop 603 Las Olas “Life’s A Beach” fashion stroll modeled by the global beauties of Ms. International World, while a live fashion performance by Melodie Blaize of Sniptease will bring fashion to life by creating unique one-of-a-kind wearable art in front of guests. 

The second annual Absolut Art showcase will feature Laurence Gartel’s Chrysler 300 Art Car and new Tie Collection alongside works by noted local artists Carlos A. Navarro, Joshua Oliviera, Michelle “Mishu” Fazaeli, Vanessa Vita, Noi Amar and Joseph “Joey Waves” Weiner. Guests inspired to create their own works of art can enjoy the interactive #BestSummerEver Art of the Selfie Station presented by Malibu Rum and #SayItWithClicquot Art of Spoken Word presented by Veuve Clicquot Rose. A real time broadcast of tweets, posts and video will come to life through a live feed on four flatcreen TVs. Erin Mia Milchman, Fort Lauderdale Magazine and rAv Communications are co-producing the event.
