Doc B's Fresh Kitchen Expanding to Fort Lauderdale

The past 30 months for Chicago-based fresh casual restaurant Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen has been busy with two spots opening in its founding city and one in Tampa, Fla. Doc B’s founder Craig Bernstein is not stopping there with plans to bring his house-made, healthful and mindfully sourced dishes to five new locations in the next 24 months, beginning with Fort Lauderdale in late 2016. Other locations include Austin and Dallas, Texas, set to open in early spring 2017; Fort Worth, Texas, in fall 2017; and Aventura, Florida, in early 2018.

“Our goal at Doc B’s is simple,” says Doc B’s Founder and President Craig Bernstein. “We created the concept to offer guests food that you can feel good about and tastes that are memorable. Whether you want a ribeye or our ahi tuna summer rolls, every bite should be one that is consistently delicious. We’ve been thrilled with our guest’s response thus far and are ready to expand our offerings to other areas of Florida and Texas.”

The restaurant partners with farmers and small, best-in-class purveyors to source the highest-quality ingredients for each scratch-made dish. The result is a balanced menu with seasonal entrees and a range of notable options for every appetite including sandwiches and burgers, salads, personalized wok bowls and more. Fort Lauderdale diners can expect Doc B’s favorites including the #1 Tuna Salad made with seared Ahi, avocado, mango, field greens and a house-made ginger dressing; The Number Six, a spicy crispy chicken sandwich topped with a pickle, habanero-honey barbecue sauce and roasted garlic dressing on an artisan roll; and Danish Barbecue Ribs, a rack of fall-of-the-bone ribs brushed with barbecue sauce and served with coleslaw. Seasonal entrees are also frequently rotated into the menu, such as the Knuckle Sandwich, a delicious twist on the traditional lobster roll served with a side of fresh kale slaw, available throughout the summer.

Additionally, Doc B’s offers an extensive craft beer, wine and spirits selection, along with a popular craft cocktail menu featuring expert takes on the classics—The Moscow Mule, The Old Fashioned and The Mint Julep, to name a few—as well as one-of-a-kind options such as The “Beet”lejuice, made with gin, all-organic beet juice, mint and lime, or The Internal Affair, made with tequila, jalapeno, pineapple and basil.

The Fort Lauderdale location will feature a sophisticated, minimalistic design consistent with other Doc B’s locations, which reflects the simple, mindful ingredients that go into every dish. Since the first opening, Doc B’s has gained recognition in the industry for providing a comfortable and accommodating dining experience that stems from the brand’s “tough on standards, not people” attitude and a focus on consistently fresh, approachable and delicious food.
