FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Molina family, operators of the La Bamba restaurant chain, announces the opening of a second restaurant in the city of Fort Lauderdale, its 6th location in the South Florida.

The small restaurant chain will welcome customers at 1901 Cordova Road in Harbor Shops off 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale, joining five other locations at Plantation, Margate, Delray Beach, North Palm Beach, and Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Known for its Mexican and Spanish dishes, the extensive menu of appetizers, fajitas, burritos, steaks, soups and salads has already earned an excellent reputation for the restaurant chain, which has a steady following of loyal customers since the first location opened in 1988.

Restaurant spokesperson Manuel Martinez said the decision to come to Fort Lauderdale was influenced by the dynamic vibe of the area, coupled with its proximity to the port Everglades where the biggest cruise ships sail away, as well as the airport, beach, the convention center and many chain hotels nearby.

“The new location is in an area that is very lively with tourists and locals, and we’re proud to bring them our famous Mexican and Spanish dishes. At La Bamba in Harbor Shops, customers can expect this restaurant to be more than a place to eat. A lot of thought has gone into the design, the menu and the overall atmosphere to create an experience of colors, music and great food, and off course the best margaritas in the area,” he said.

With the new location, the management has taken a completely approach with the design, using recycled waste generated in other locations to create décor pieces for the interior. This includes a large replica of the La Bamba logo made entirely of bottle caps. The move is part of a commitment by the Molina family to be environmentally responsible in their business practices, as they continue to build a thriving entity that provides great food in a fun family atmosphere in South Florida.
