POMPANO BEACH, Fl – Early bird registration is now open for Island Paws Rescue’s Fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which will take place on Saturday, June 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course. Golfers can register online or in-person during the celebratory kick-off event at 26º Brewing Company on Wednesday, April 27 at 6 p.m. 

As part of the kick-off event, craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy a barking good time as they sample a selection of local brews, including the Tri County Common Lager, The Brown Eye IPA, Scotch Ness Monster and IPA1A and compete in cornhole, darts and other games. Supporters are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of happy hour pricing.

“We are excited to bring back this event that supports abandoned animals in need,” said Johanna Jacobs, managing director of Island Paws Rescue. “Funds raised by our annual golf outing have helped secure medical attention for more than 100 strays during the past year and we are thankful to those who come play and support our cause.”

Participants of the golf tournament will enjoy an afternoon on the links with various athletic pursuits held in conjunction with the tournament, including longest drive, horseshoes and closest-to-the-pin contests. Following the event, all are invited to attend an awards ceremony and after-party with food and drinks held at Galuppi’s Restaurant.

Golfers can reserve their place on the green now through Saturday, April 30 for $100 per person or $400 for a team of four. Registration will increase to $125 per golfer or $500 for a team of four as of Sunday, May 1. Golfers can bring a guest to the after-party for just $30. Attendees may sign-up at www.islandpawsrescue.org.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will support Island Paws Rescue’s mission to save the lives of stray dogs, cats, puppies and kittens throughout South Florida and from the islands of Bimini and the Abacos through medical treatments, adoption and education.
