POMPANO BEACH, FL -- Pompano Beach High School, an International Affairs and Information Technology magnet school, is hosting three education administrators from Brazil for two weeks as part of the 2013 Educational Seminar International Exchange Program.   The Educational Seminar takes place from October 17-28, 2013, and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and Broward County Public Schools.  

A special welcoming ceremony for the International Exchange Administrators will be held on October 17, 2013, at 8:15 a.m. at Pompano Beach High School, located at 600 NE 13th Avenue in Pompano Beach.  Media are invited to attend.  

The Educational Seminar will also include visits to Crystal Lake Middle, Blanche Ely High, Pompano Beach Elementary, Cypress Bay High and Taravella High schools.  In addition, the exchange group will visit local universities, businesses and enjoy local cultural events. Pompano Beach Principal Hudson Thomas, who has also been awarded a fellowship from the U.S. Department of State to participate in the program, will travel to Brazil for two weeks in the summer of 2014 for the reciprocal component of this exchange.

The Educational Seminar International Exchange Program is a mutual exchange opportunity. The program provides professional development opportunities to share best practices on issues of mutual interest to their schools, students and communities.  The program is individualized through collaboration between partners and focuses on teaching strategies/instruction, the development of joint educational projects, personnel administration, school systems and management, global issues and culture, curriculum development, student affairs and/or educational policy.
