The City of Fort Lauderdale continues to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Erika as it moves westward through the Caribbean. While it is still too early to predict the precise timing and impact of the storm, the National Weather Service estimates the storm could affect our area by late this weekend. In addition, the effects of the storm could be exacerbated by "King Tides" that are expected to affect our area beginning Saturday night. Neighbors are reminded to review their emergency plans and make sure they are ready to take the proper protective steps if needed.
