The Florida Department of Education released preliminary results from the Spring 2014/15 Florida Standards Assessments. These are not student achievement-level scores, which are expected to be released in January 2016.

District staff is continuing to analyze the limited information provided by the state today. At this early stage of the review, internal District analysis suggests student performance in Broward County Public Schools is projected to be higher than the state average in a majority of the tested areas.

“While staff reviews the results released today, our District will continue to support the position of the Florida Association of District School Superintendents regarding accountability,” said Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert W. Runcie. “We must do what’s right by students and teachers. As a District, we will continue to focus on providing a high quality education to ensure all of our students reach their highest potential.”
