FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- South Florida Ford has signed on to be the title sponsor of the Lauderdale Air Show. The South Florida Ford Dealers made a multi-year commitment to become the title sponsor of the event less than two weeks before it is set to return featuring the top performer line up in North America in 2016.
The air show in Fort Lauderdale has been without a title sponsor since McDonald’s ended its title sponsorship of the former Air and Sea Show in 2007 resulting in its cancellation in 2008. The Lauderdale Air Show that took place in 2012 and 2013 did not have a title sponsor. The South Florida Ford Dealers commitment will add significantly to the sustainability of the event in the future.
“The South Florida Ford Dealers are big supporters of the local community” said Allan Young, Chairman of Board of South Florida Ford. “We are pleased the Lauderdale Air Show has returned and want to make sure that this signature event returns to South Florida every year.”
“This is a giant leap for the Lauderdale Air Show to have Ford and the South Florida Ford Dealers as our title sponsor,” said Bryan Lilley, President of the Air Show. “Their commitment will help ensure the event returns in future years and becomes an annual signature event in the community.”
The 2016 Ford Lauderdale Air Show will feature the best line-up in North America this year. The show will feature demonstrations by:

- Canadian Forces Snowbirds
- Breitling Jet Team
- U.S. Air Force F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Heritage Flight (first civilian air show in history to feature flight of F35!)
- U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier Jet
- U.S. Navy FA/18 Hornet demo
- Canadian FA/18 Superhornet demo
- Coast Guard Search and Rescue (SAR) demo
- GEICO Skytypers
- Mike Wiskus in his Lucas Oil Pitts and the Lucas Oil Parachute Jump Team
- Matt Chapman in his Extra 330LX
