Fort Lauderdale, FL – Nearly 120 people recently participated in the “Death of a Blackheart” at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale, enabling the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek to generate more than $17,000 for service projects and community outreach.

The fundraiser, a murder mystery show donated by Chris Edwards Productions, included a role for each attendee, cocktails, and dinner.

“We’re indebted to everyone who made this a special night for our club,” said Robert Slatoff, president of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale/Cypress Creek. “The money raised through ticket sales and sponsorships will fund programs such as Stop Hunger Now, LifeNet4Families, and ongoing outreach to needy children in our community.”

The Alters Family was the event’s lead sponsor, but many others also contributed, either financially or with in-kind donations. The money raised more than doubled what had been generated in 2015.
