With engaging opportunities for children and adults, the Center’s classes begin on Monday, September 8 and are designed to encourage artistic expression through the performing arts as teaching artists and instructors offer exciting new classes in a beautiful setting.

“The new Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center will allow us to realize our vision, fulfill our mission, and build on our promise to enrich the lives of those in the community,” said Broward Center President and CEO Kelley Shanley.  “We are profoundly grateful to the Miniaci family for their dedication to our community and we are honored to be a part of their enduring legacy.”

The wide range of offerings include 10-week courses that nurture early childhood development, musical theater courses for children and teens, improv classes for teens and adults, and private lessons.  Adults can also enjoy fitness, improv, singing and performance classes as well as 5-week sessions in ballroom dance.

Classes for babies and toddlers from three months to three years old will combine songs, rhythm and rhyme into play to create connections which foster learning.  Preschool age children may be enrolled in classes which include literacy activities and instill confidence and socialization.

School age children and teens can choose from a variety of performance classes with options for all levels of experience. Many classes culminate in an on-stage performance or recital and one innovative workshop series features guest artists from Broadway shows.

Adults can enroll in fitness classes including Pilates, yoga and Zumba® classes as well as a daytime singing class and an evening improv class.  Ballroom dance offerings include Cha-cha, Waltz, Foxtrot and Salsa and culminate in a dance party in the new Porter Riverview Ballroom.

Private lessons and individualized coaching is also available in voice, dance, acting, and musical instruments for adults and children over the age of 7.

A unique class designed to teach theater to those with physical and intellectual disabilities is also on the calendar. This session creates options for personal growth by exploring all the learning opportunities the theater has to offer.

Parking is included in the price of each class.  Classes are limited in size to ensure personalized attention and meet on a weekly basis. A complete class listing is available online at BrowardCenter.org/education or by contacting registrar@browardcenter.org or calling 954.414.6904.
