FORT LAUDERDALE - Tickets go on sale August 14 for the Broward Center’s 2015-16 dance series that features: Momix Botanica (November 27 and 28), Blaze The Show (January 31), Moscow Festival Ballet performing Sleeping Beauty (February 28), Pilobolus (April 8 and 9) and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (April 15).

“From the deep-rooted tradition of the Moscow Festival Ballet and the comedic yet astounding ability of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo to the heart-pounding theatricality of Momix, Pilobolus and Blaze, the Broward Center’s 2015-16 dance season will appeal not only to dance fans but to many who will just enjoy the creative energy and sheer talent of the performers who take the stage,” said Broward Center President and CEO Kelley Shanley. “And we’re delighted that once again this season, we’ll be able to offer master classes with some of these incredible performers in our new education center.”

The series begins with the revolutionary dance company Momix as it transports audiences to a breathtaking fantasy world in Botanica to reveal nature’s ever changing imagery. Botanica shows off the endlessly renewable athletic energy of the superb Momix troupe with costumes, projections, custom-made props and puppetry adding an extra dose of fantasy to the elixir. The program features choreography by the legendary Moses Pendleton and an eclectic score that ranges from birdsong to Vivaldi. Performances are presented in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center on Friday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 28 at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $39.50–$49.50.

In conjunction with the series, Momix will offer a master class at the Broward Center that is a movement-based exploration of the Momix style of dance on Sunday, November 29 at 10 a.m. The master class provides a behind-the-scenes look at what a dancer’s life is like and includes a warm up, structured improvisation, building of choreography, show and tell, cool down and questions. The class is open to participants ages 14 years and older who have an intermediate dance level or greater. Tickets are $30 to participate and $15 to observe the class.

The international dance spectacular Blaze The Show combines the excitement of a nightclub with Broadway production values in an explosive, non-stop street dance and break dance show that comes to Parker Playhouse on Sunday, January 31 at 6 p.m. The show combines acclaimed theater and music talents with set designs by Es Devlin (set designer for Kanye West and the Lady Gaga Monster Ball tour), direction by Anthony van Laast (Mamma Mia!, Sister Act, Batman Live) and choreography set to an incredible soundtrack by many of the hottest names in the street dance scene. Blazing with talent and young exuberance, the dancers perform an impressive variety of street dance styles, from the witty expressiveness of popping and locking to the acrobatic daredevilry of breaking. Tickets are $35.50–$55.50.

Under the direction of legendary Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer Sergei Radchenko, The Moscow Festival Ballet performs Sleeping Beauty at Parker Playhouse on Sunday, February 28 at 2 p.m. Extraordinary Russian dancers, stunning choreography, opulent sets and lavish costumes, along with Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score create an experience the whole family will enjoy. In the grand tradition of classical Russian ballet, audiences will be transported to the storybook kingdom of a fairytale princess, a malevolent witch and the magic of true love’s kiss. Since its inception in1989, the Moscow Festival Ballet has toured extensively with a company vision to bring together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies within the framework of Russian classic ballet.Tickets are $26.50–$56.50.

The Pilobolus dance troupe enthralls audiences with jaw-dropping athleticism, mesmerizing transformations and gravity-defying choreography that it brings to the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center on Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Pilobolus Dance Theater has been touring its 115 pieces of repertory to more than 64 countries over the last 42 years. The Los Angeles Times has stated, “Pilobolus embodies a large part of what the best of contemporary dance is all about: discovery. Making something new with the same standard body parts the rest of us have.” Tickets are $49.

Combining a wicked comedic sense of humor with respect for true classical dance, the all-male, 16-member Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo once again dances a fine line between high art and high camp in its return to the Parker Playhouse on Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m. This internationally beloved troupe of burly dancers, affectionately known as the "Trocks," has delighted audiences with parodies of classical ballet as over-the-top gestures and powerhouse technique deliver performances that amuse at every level. Tickets are $37.50–$57.50.
