FORT LAUDERDALE, FL --  Nothing cures like laughter and positive energy. Planning to fill the room with those two things, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is announcing its 6th Annual Comedy Night event, featuring Lachlan Patterson, a rising comedic talent from Vancouver, Canada, and one of the finalists of the 2014 season of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” competition.

Guests are invited to the comedy fundraiser on October 21, 2015, at the Improv Comedy Club of Ft. Lauderdale, 5700 Seminole Way, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314. Last year, the Foundation welcomed a sold-out crowd to enjoy comedian Paul Mercurio. The event raised more than $53,000 for CCFA’s efforts to find a cure for the digestive diseases that debilitate more than 1.5 million Americans each year.

“Laughter is a universal language,” said event chairperson Sabrina Kurzman, who, along with her family, also organized the event the past five years. “We have been overwhelmed by the level of support this event receives year after year and how so many people look forward to coming together to laugh and smile, all in the name of increasing healing, support, and awareness of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.”
