FORT LAUDERDALE – The Broward Center’s 2015-16 Dance Series begins with the revolutionary dance company Momix performing Botanica in the Amaturo Theater on Friday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 28 at 3 and 7:30 p.m.
This acclaimed troupe transports audiences to a breathtaking fantasy world of inventiveness and beauty through its trademark use of athletic dance, riveting music, spectacular costumes, novel props and pure talent. Beautiful and enthralling, Botanica is the perfect show for the entire family as it follows the rhythms of the seasons, the changing shape of life on earth and the passing of a day.

Set to an eclectic score that ranges from birdsong to Vivaldi, Botanica reveals nature’s changing imagery in Momix’s signature illusionary style with choreography by the legendary Moses Pendleton.

The New York Times noted, “Momix deals in illusions, props and trippy images, and Botanica has an abundance of all three…Botanica can be enjoyed, in bursts, for its high illusion-making skill and for the strength of its athletic, interchangeable dancers.”
