SUNRISE, Fla. – Business for the Arts of Broward, in partnership with IKEA Sunrise, will present the Artist Encounter Series with artist Frances Tyler, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, at the Sunrise IKEA store, 151 NW 136 Ave., where visitors can experience free live demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

On September 4, Tyler invite families to participate in a collaborative project, by helping to create a large canvas that illustrates sea turtle conservation. The finished painting will be donated to a local sea turtle conservation program for display or auction.

“Many of my current paintings focus on raising awareness and protecting endangered and threatened species and their habitats,” said Tyler. “My goal is for the viewer to form an emotional connection and an appreciation of the animal’s importance.

An active member of the Florida arts community, Tyler belongs to several art and professional organizations. She is a Certified GOLDEN Artist Educator for GOLDEN Artist Colors, Inc., and shares her experience with others through teaching, private art lessons and art demonstrations and for children, teens and adults. She has received numerous national and international awards and recognitions for both art and design and her paintings are held in several private collections.

The Artist Encounter Series at IKEA Sunrise is a program that provides local artists of different disciplines with the opportunity to engage the community and become an ambassador to help connect a wider audience with the process of creating and enjoying art. The Artist Encounter Series enhances the experience of visitors and staff and produces an environment that connects people of all backgrounds, ethnicities and generations through the common bond of art and culture.
