Balloon Drop at YAA7115

DAVIE, Fla. – Young At Art Museum will host the 4th annual Rockin’ Noon Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Museum, located at 751 S.W. 121 Ave. in Davie. Fun for the entire family, this New Year celebration allows young and old to ring in 2017 together with two festive “Drops” timed at noon so everyone can participate.

Two traditional Balloon Drops will be held at noon, one in the Museum’s CultureScapes exhibit for ages 5 and up, and one in the WonderScapes exhibit for ages 5 and under, complete with music, fireworks jewelry-making, a sparkling cider toast, and the official countdown to noon.

New this year is the Ball drop! art activity. Starting at 10 a.m., children can participate in decorating a giant, artful “crystal” ball and then watch it shimmer and shine when dropped during the countdown to noon in the CultureScapes exhibit. Visitors also will have the opportunity to make their own New Year’s Party hats and New Year’s notecards, using traditional Asian brushes and ink, to celebrate the Year of the Chicken.

Sponsors for Rockin’ Noon Year’s Eve include Jammin’ Express, New York Life, Paragon Theaters, 104.3 The Shark and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The cost for the Rockin’ Noon Year’s Eve Party is free with paid admission to the Museum: $14 per person; $12 for Broward County residents, seniors and children over age 1; $11 for military members their immediate families; and free for Museum members.
