FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Local artists and art lovers enjoyed the opening reception at ArtServe of “BIG: Big Bold Art,” which featured colossal new works 36” in size or larger, and raised money for the award-winning arts incubator that will help it sustain operations and fund critical improvements that serve the community, such as the dance studio renovations in progress.

The works in the exhibition were judged by Boca Raton Museum Art School Director Walter O’Neill and awards were given to: Maurizio Battifora, Best in Show; Juan Carlos Soto Zelaya, Honorable Mention and Stuart Berg, Judges’ Recognition. Liam McRae was recognized with the Online People’s Choice Award, which is based on popular vote.

Goldstein Schechter Koch CPAS & Wealth Advisors Gallery featured artist Catherine Konstance Wichmann and Gallery 133 featured artist David Schrock met and interacted with those attending.

ArtServe is located at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and admission to the gallery is free. Gallery hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. More information is available at www.ArtServe.org or by calling 954-462-8190.
