POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day,” presented by Baptist Health Care on Demand, will return on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tri-Rail’s Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach. The ninth annual South Florida Parenting event will offer families a FREE, fun-filled afternoon of arts and crafts, interactive games, photos with Tri-Rail’s mascot Conductor George Green and famous kid-friendly characters, live entertainment, face painting, giveaways, food trucks and the highly anticipated “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” singing competition, featuring the talents of kids ages 17 and under.
“Tri-Rail is excited to once again present this signature event and welcome South Florida families to this free day of fun,” said Bonnie Arnold, public information officer for SFRTA/Tri-Rail. “This is the perfect platform to connect with the communities that we serve and further our position as the way to travel throughout the region.”
South Florida families will enjoy interactive games from the Florida Panthers and Brazilian Soccer Training Center. Prizes, giveaways and activities will be provided courtesy of GoGo Squeeze, Young at Art Museum, Museum of Discovery & Science and others. Attendees will also enjoy live stage entertainment performed by Florida Children's Theatre and Cassie Ortiz, plus Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” show.
Twelve young acts under 17 will show off their singing talents as they compete in Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition with special guest DJ Mack of Y100. The first place winner will receive a $500 grand prize, one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent and professional voice lessons with MikeSoperMusic.

Tri-Rail is encouraging families to ride the train to the event with roundtrip fares: $5 for adults and free for kids 12 and under on this day only. Plus, the first 200 people to visit the Tri-Rail event booth and present a valid Tri-Rail ticket dated Jan. 28, 2017 will receive a special thank you gift.
