LOS ANGELES – Acclaimed commercial and advertising photographer, Andrew Grant, is taking a road-trip across America to advocate for homeless animals by raising money for pet rescues and shelters. The Rover to the Rescue Tour raised over $400,000 in 2012 and expects to raise over a million dollars for animals in 2013!

Starting in Los Angeles, CA, Grant is currently traveling cross-country photographing donor's dogs and cats and will be in Fort Lauderdale May 23 – June 9 at the Humane Society of Broward County. Some of the pets photographed so far include Daisy Hudson, Jasper Bodenweber and Scruffy and Daisy Huizenga. Other cities Grant will visit include Phoenix, Santa Fe, Vail, Aspen, Houston, Dallas, Kailua Kona, Fort Lauderdale, Sea Island, Savannah, Atlanta, Arlington, New York City, Hamptons, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Greenwich, Chicago, Nashville, Seattle and San Francisco.

"Rover is a unique fundraising tool for animal rescues to cultivate new donors who've never been involved before," says Grant. "Donors are thrilled to immortalize their dog in a book that lives on thousands of coffee tables for years!"
According to the National Counsel on Pet Population Study by The Humane Society of the United States:

• Over 56% of dogs and puppies entering shelters are euthanized every year.
• An estimated 4 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year.
• Approximately one death every 8 seconds.

"When I first learned just how many dogs and cats entered shelters every year and the dramatic effect the recession and housing crisis was having on rescues, there was an immediate sense of urgency to bring attention to the crisis," says Grant.

Combining his creative talents with influential dog advocates and philanthropists, Grant set out to produce a large coffee table book full of compelling portraits of dogs in all colors, shapes and sizes.

In January 2013, Grant released Rover – Bow Wow Edition, which is the third book in the past four years. Each of the 600 dog images personally edited by Grant reveals his incredible commitment to bringing awareness and life to each face in the book. He hopes that the portraits of both rescue and purebred dogs will inspire individual contributions and become part of the Rover community.
