FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Shake a tail…or a feather! Don’t miss this fabulous event in support of our local furry friends in need at the 26th Annual Walk for the Animals presented by VCA Animal Hospitals.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 5th at Huizenga Plaza in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and is chaired by Carey Morgan and Deanna Kimbrough. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the 1.25-mile walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. Honorary Chairs for the Walk include Jacey Birch of WPLG Local 10 News and U-Turn Laverne from 99.9 Kiss Country.
You don’t need a dog to join in the fun! The walk is fabulous way to meet fellow animal lovers all while raising money for a great cause. There will be a bounce house and face painting for the younger crowd. Dogs can receive the star treatment with red carpet photos courtesy of Little’s Photography and take a dip in the doggie pools all while their owners enjoy free pancakes from IHOP, and live entertainment from the Thunderhead Band. Participants can also visit sponsor booths and pick up fun items from VCA Animal Hospitals, Purina, Pet Supermarket, BB&T, PETCO, Animal Eyes Specialty Clinic and many more!
There are a number of ways to get involved and help the HSBC reach their $600,000 goal. Participants can create a personal fundraising page at www.Walk4theAnimals.com and ask friends, family and co-workers to make donations.
Have a group of friends or co-workers that are animal lovers? Form a Pack or team and raise a minimum of $1,500 and your pack will receive special perks on Walk day. Some ideas to help you reach your fundraising goals are hosting a bake sale, a dog wash or a book sale. If you raise $150 you’ll receive the official Walk t-shirt and dog bandana. The more you raise, the more you earn including, an HSBC baseball hat, HSBC sling backpack, VCA Animal Hospitals’ gift certificates and more! Oh and the top three fundraisers will enjoy fabulous prizes as well for their hard work.
