Greystar is pleased to announce that Elan 16Forty, a luxury apartment community in Fort Lauderdale, has earned green building certification by the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC). Elan 16Forty successfully met the sustainability standards established by the FGBC for Green High-Rise Residential Building. The designation represents achievements in a number of categories such as energy efficiency, water conservation, site preservation, indoor air quality, materials and durability.

As a FGBC certified project, Elan 16Forty completed a technically rigorous building assessment and construction process. The community includes a variety of eco-friendly features such as water efficient fixtures, energy-efficient lighting, low VOC paint and stormwater management. To improve water conservation, the community has incorporated drought tolerant plants and uses irrigation technology to help eliminate unnecessary watering.
The 261-unit apartment community offers one, two and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 686 to 1,599 square feet of living space. Interior finishes include stainless steel appliances, oversized kitchen islands with European cabinetry, granite countertops with under-mount sinks, pendant lighting and bamboo flooring in living areas.
