Crews working for All Aboard Florida, the express, intercity passenger rail service owned by Florida East Coast Industries, will temporarily close the intersection of West Broward Boulevard and the Florida East Coast Railway in order to work on sections of the railroad tracks as the next step in preparations for the construction of the Fort Lauderdale station.

The intersection will be closed at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, and remain closed until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015. Crews from the locally-owned company Gonzalez & Sons will be installing a new railroad track panel and about 120 feet of new track parallel to the existing track. This work is necessary to keep freight rail operations going as All Aboard Florida constructs the new station.
