One of the few beachside restaurants in the area, Aruba Beach Café is known for its open air casual dining with a tropical theme.  Guests can dine or enjoy cocktails overlooking the ocean from the inside, as well as on the outside deck or at one of its three bars.

“We have live music every night and 6 bands on Saturday and Sunday," says Guy Contrada, Senior Manager at Aruba.  “In addition to our regular entertainment, we have a Beach Blast planned for Memorial Day with a 40-foot buffet and music by Twocan Blue and Friends and The Fabulous Fleetwoods.”

Just down the block from Aruba is the Village Grill restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the Village Pump, established in 1949, featuring Jazz-on-the-Square every Friday Night in Pelican Square.  Sections of Commercial Boulevard and El Mar Drive are closed off to provide room for the stage, crowd and dancing.

Across the street, 101 Ocean has casual open air dining on the street and music on Friday Night. ”We offer a wide assortment of entrees and appetizers and have a raw bar, “notes Anthony D’Lia, general manager.  “One of the menu items we’re most known for is our assortment of flatbreads.”

At the corner of A1A and Commercial Boulevard, Athena By The Sea serves up authentic Greek dishes daily with belly dancing on the weekend.  The restaurant closes off sections of Commercial Boulevard and sponsors ‘Music-By-The-Sea” with a variety of bands on Saturday Night.

On the Intracoastal just north of Commercial, the art deco designed Blue Moon Fish Co. offers fine dining on the water.  “We combine a five-star fine dining waterfront restaurant with a white tablecloth casual style,” says Alan F. Forgea, general manager.  “We also provide some of the freshest seafood in the area, taking fish delivery twice a day seven days a week.  Much of the fish we serve is caught locally.”

Attesting to the quality of Blue Moon fare, the restaurant recently won the “Best Tasting” award at the Las Olas Food and Wine Festival for the second year in a row for their “Togarashi Seared Sea Scallops”.   Upcoming events are the “Summer Wine Series” which includes a “Great Wines of the World” tasting the last Thursday of each month, and on May 10, a  “Dinner with the Winemaker” hosted by award winning winemakers Robert and P.J. Rex, of Deerfield Ranch Wineries in Sonoma, CA.

Occupying a majestic site, on a bluff just fifty yards from the Atlantic Ocean on A1A, the Sea Watch Restaurant offers incomparable views of the shore framed by scores of swaying coconut palms and sand dunes spotted with natural sea grasses.  Inside patrons enjoy a nautical décor with their lunch or dinner.

Other restaurants include: Country Ham and Eggs, a great spot for breakfast or lunch on El Mar Drive; Benihana, Japanese style cuisine; and La Spada’s Original Hoagies on Seagrape Drive.

These restaurants and nightspots are just a sample of what Lauderdale-By-The Sea has to offer.  The area literally has something for everyone.
