Experience the heart pounding thrill of Step Afrika!--the first professional dance company in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping. Celebrating this art form born that was born in African-American college fraternities and based in African traditions, Step Afrika's intricate kicks, stomps and rhythms mixed with spoken word enthrall audiences of all ages. Step Afrika! is "always visually and musically exciting," according to the Washington Post. Don't miss this electrifying and one-of-a-kind performance.

From Montreal and Madagascar to Alaska and Alabama, Step Afrika! seeks to build connections between people and highlight the similarities in our dance forms, our lives and our communities. Step Afrika! proudly represents the city of Washington, D.C. as the official Cultural Ambassador at events around the world.

This performance is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.
