Fort Lauderdale, FL – On a magnificent early April day, the animals at the Humane Society of Broward County were the winners, when the Men's Big Dog Golf Tournament took place at Fort Lauderdale Country Club. Event chairs Melody and Ali Saleh, Cherie and John Marshall and Honorary Chairs Steve and Jeannie Hudson are thrilled to announce that more than $62,000 was raised for the shelter.

Upon arrival golfers were greeted by Hollywood actor/director/producer Said Faraj who came from Los Angeles to show his support for the event. Golfers enjoyed participating in a shamble format at this year's tournament this kept the game challenging for everyone. The lucky winner of the 50/50 Pet Poker Game Mike Brochu donated his winnings back to the shelter. Later on in the day, spectators watched as five golfers were randomly selected for their shot at winning ONE MILLION dollars during the Million Dollar Shootout sponsored by Emerging Magazine.

Along the course players sampled drinks from Bimini Boatyard Bar & Grill, Blue Martini, Mai Kai and Oceans 234. At the end of the day Pooch Hooch from Bimini Boatyard Bar & Grill was selected as the "Best in Show Cocktail." After playing the 18 holes, everyone enjoyed a BBQ dinner and an award ceremony emceed by BIG 105.9's Dave Lamont.

The first place winning four-some with the Overall Low Gross won fabulous PING products and bragging rights of being the BIG DOG champions, with a ceramic Champion cup to prove it are the Shiff four-some: Michael Shiff, Joey Loiacono, Eric Kaplan and David Brand. The Second Place four-some with the Overall Low Net was Bimini Boatyard Sponsor: Jeff Hallick, Tim Drushella, Barry Chane and William Clemmons; and Great Dane Flight winners 1st Place: Chris Sanchez, Randy Zerra, Jef Lis and Stephen Botek; 2nd Place: Richard Taylor, Marcos Aguilar, Tom Carter, John Collum; Labradors Flight winners 1st Place: Dennis Mc Lennand, Ruby Llerena, George Apakian, Dan Hess; 2nd Place: Michael Neider, Allie Resnik, Jimmy Robbins, Marshall Goldberg. All of the winners received Crystal trophies generously underwritten by Ali & Melody Saleh, Divot Happens.

Longest drive winner for the Great Danes (0-18 handicaps) was David Levy; Longest drive winner for the Labradors (19-36 handicaps) was Ed Collins; Closest to the pin winners were Randy Zerra and Phil Ricciardi; These golfers were also awarded fabulous prizes from PING.
