Fort Lauderdale, FL -- The Humane Society of Broward County is thrilled to host our second annual Big Dog Men’s Invitational Golf Tournament on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.  If last year’s success is any indication, this event will be the BARK of the town. All handicap levels will enjoy the Shamble format to compete for PING® golf equipment and not to mention, bragging rights of being the BIG DOGS.

Feeling lucky? One lucky player will win CASH $$$ in our 50/50 Pet Poker Game. Still feeling lucky? Choose from not one, not two, not even three but FOUR hole-in-one prizes, one on all Par-3 holes. A one year lease on a new car sponsored by AutoNation; $25,000 CASH (50/50 - $12.5k to winner; $12.5k to HSBC) sponsored by Tim Marshall, CopySource Inc., a Konica Minolta Co.; PGA Championship Experience (PRICELESS) sponsored by Ali & Melody Saleh, Divot Happens and a Bundle of prizes (Apple iPad, iPod Nano & Gift Card, Callaway® Irons & Woods or a $750 VISA Card).

For the luckiest of the luckiest, FIVE (5) players will be randomly selected for their shot at winning ONE MILLION dollars during the shootout after the tournament. A 165-yard shot straight in the hole wins the big bucks. Emerging Magazine, sponsor of last year’s $25,000 hole-in-one cash prize WINNING shot is back again giving you $1million reasons why you should be playing in this year’s tournament. Stefan DuBois, CEO of Emerging Magazine knows everyone coming out to play is really there to help nearly 9,000 homeless pets find their loving homes this year, “This is just a little added incentive”, he adds.

Joining us again this year is Said Faraj, actor/producer/director, best known for his role in The Green Zone with Matt Damon and most recently, in Sinbad The Fifth Voyage. Said has posted on Facebook, “I’m so excited to participate again this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.” Stefan DuBois is making it a DOUBLE-HEADER this year by also flying in Herb Moore, two-time Emmy nominated Disney/Warner Brothers animator. Herb will once create an original poster featuring Duffy MacTaggart that will be part of the silent auction at the event.

Lots of other unique & fun parts to the day…. “Best in Show” cocktail along the course (players pick the winner); Longest Drive & Closest to the pin contests; Drive like a Pro - the PGA pro, for a small donation, will hit a drive for your team; Muttigans - giving pets a Second Shot are available (2 for $25) and of course, the golf ball agility, chipping contest.

The event is being chaired by Melody and Ali Saleh and Cherie and John Marshall.  Honorary Chairs for this event are Steve and Jeannie Hudson. The dinner and awards portion of the tournament will be emceed by BIG 105.9’s sports commentator Dave Lamont.
