Superintendent Runcie will continue his "listening tour" to hear from parents and community members following the School District's upcoming Winter Break on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Coconut Creek High School, (1400 NW 44th Ave., Coconut Creek).
The "listening tour" is part of the new superintendent's plan to encourage parents and community members to become involved in Broward County Public Schools and take an active role in improving student achievement and performance. The perspectives, experiences, opinions and concerns expressed by parents and community members will be used in developing the next District Strategic Plan.
"I hope to receive stakeholders' perspectives on that which we do very well and that which we can do better," Runcie said about his efforts to meet with and connect with the parents and the community.
Following are future "listening tour" stops. The public is invited. All sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m.:
• Wednesday, January 4 at Coconut Creek High School, 1400 NW 44th Ave., Coconut Creek
• Monday, January 9 at Flanagan High School, 12800 Taft St., Pembroke Pines
• Tuesday, January 17 at Cypress Bay High School, 18600 Vista Park Blvd., Weston
• Thursday, January 19 at Dillard High School, 2501 NW 11th St., Fort Lauderdale
• Thursday, February 9 at Hollywood Hills High School
