The 2012 ACCLAIM AWARD nomination process is underway. Parents, community members, students and staff are encouraged to nominate an outstanding principal and assistant principal for the honor.
Nomination statements of 50 words or less are being accepted through December 2 at www.browardschools.com.
The ACCLAIM Awards were created to honor an outstanding principal and assistant principal each year for their hard work and dedication. The awards seek to recognize school leaders who excel in the following areas: Achievement, Communication, Compassion, Leadership, Accountability, Innovation and Motivation.
Individuals should nominate principals and assistant principals who exhibit outstanding talent for educational leadership in a complex and diverse environment. Nominations will be reviewed to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria.
To be eligible for the Broward Principal of the Year, an individual should be:
• principal for a minimum of 3 years;
• located at his/her school for the entire school year for which they are beingnominated;
• evaluated as "meets" or "exceeds" on performance ratings as a principal; and
• in good standing in the school system.
To be eligible for the Broward Assistant Principal of the Year, an individual should be:
• an assistant principal for a minimum of 2 years;
• located at his/her school for the entire school year for which they are being nominated;
• evaluated as "meets" or "exceeds" on performance ratings as an assistant principal; and
• in good standing in the school system.
