
Professor Smart and Dr. Knowitall offer a wacky look at how things work using comedy, light and optical illusions to put scientific principles into action with lessons on matter, gravity, air resistance, pressure and propulsion, gyroscopes, levers and fulcrums and static electricity.
Integrating the arts with education, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts presents the Smart Stage Matinee Series of live school-day performances based on children's classics, science and history. Smart Stage Matinees offer professional performances that bring learning to life with stage adaptations of children's books as well as performances by music and theater artists. The series is also presented at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark.
Individual tickets are $6, groups of 10 or more are $5.50 each and $3 lap tickets are available for infants 12 months and under. Free study guides for teachers and educators are available which reinforce the lessons and enhance the learning experience for many of the performances at www.browardcenter.org/education or by calling (954) 468-2689.
