The City of Fort Lauderdale and Miller Pipeline, LLC will be performing maintenance operations on a 24-inch sewer main that runs along Broward Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to US 1 / Federal Highway in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and Flagler Village. The improvements being made as part of this project will increase the reliability of the sewer system and prevent future breakdowns. The work includes:

  • taking video to assess the condition of the existing 24-inch sewer main
  • cleaning and lining the pipe
  • roadway reconstruction including paving and site restoration as needed 

Construction will begin on Sunday, February 20, 2022, and is expected to be completed in May 2022. Work will take place Sunday through Thursday evenings between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. as crews move from east to west within the project limits.

Traffic Impacts

  • Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard may be closed overnight between Andrews Avenue and US 1 / Federal Highway. At least one lane will remain open.
  • One lane of southbound NE 3 Avenue approaching Broward Boulevard may be closed overnight.
  • Access to driveways will be maintained. Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
