A leisurely evening stroll, art galleries and, perhaps, some wine. It might sound like Paris, but you can find it a lot closer to home.

Fort Lauderdale galleries open their doors to art aficionados and budding connoisseurs three out of four weeks of every month.

It starts on the first Saturday of the month with the North Beach Art Walk, along 32nd and 33rd streets, and A1A just north of Oakland Park Boulevard, from 7 to 10 p. m. It includes live music, live painting, as well as art displays on the sidewalks and at the three founders of the event, Gallery 101, The Art of Alex, and the 33rd Street Wine Bar.

On the third Thursday of every month, the Las Olas Art Walk invites strollers to enjoy a self-guided gallery walk through the downtown arts and restaurant district from 6 to 10 p. m. It includes live music, meetings with artists, and a variety of experiential events that have included hands-on bookmaking and frolicking amid more than 200 mini-windmills.

The FAT Village Arts District holds its Art walk on the last Saturday of each month. The four-block zone bounded by NW 6th and 5th Streets between N. Andrews and the railroad tracks is home to artist's spaces, studios, workshops, a gallery, a prop-maker and theaters that open their doors from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

You can even get more art if you're willing to range a little farther. Wilton Manors hosts the Island City Art walk on the third Friday of each month from 7 to 10 p. m., November through April. It covers just over a mile of Wilton Drive and showcases the work of over 40 local artists in Art and Entertainment District galleries, stores, cafés, boutiques and restaurants.

Galleries in downtown Hollywood open their doors the third Saturday of each month from 7 to 10 p. m. The event includes an opening at a different gallery each month and every one of the participating galleries provides refreshments. Maps of the gallery route are available at Comfort Zone Studio & Spa, 2028 Harrison St., at the start of the evening.

Pompano Beach combines food, wine and art at East Village Uncorked from 6 to 9 p. m. on the first Friday of each month. Fifteen restaurants offer a variety of international cuisine. There are wine tastings at participating shops and artist's exhibits line the streets of Harbor Village from 2601 to 2781 E. Atlantic Blvd.
