The Polar Express Ft. Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The Museum of Discovery and Science announced that it has been named community supporter of the inaugural service on board THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride starting November 11, 2018 through January 1, 2019. In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the magical story comes to life when the train departs from Brightline’s Fort Lauderdale, Florida station for a round-trip journey led by a cast of professional actors.

Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ for a magical one-hour trip to meet Santa. Once on board, car hosts will work their way through the coach and punch golden tickets before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas. During the trip, characters on each car lead passengers in caroling and onboard entertainment – just like in the film! Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh bell in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip.

The journey begins November 11, 2018, and runs through January 1, 2019, on select dates. Exact dates, fares and excursion times are available by visiting www.ftlthepolarexpressride.com. Ticket prices range from $50 to $70, depending on date and class of service. Families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride! Can’t wait to start the holiday season? About THE POLAR EXPRESS: An IMAX 3D Experience

The Academy Awardâ-winning team of Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Cast Away) reunited for this inspiring holiday adventure based on the classic Caldecott Medal-winning children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

As the first full-length feature ever converted into IMAX® 3D, the Warner Bros. Pictures film opened in 2004 to great critical acclaim. In recognition of its enduring popularity, AutoNation® IMAX® Theater welcomes THE POLAR EXPRESS for an exclusive IMAX-only encore engagement.

Audiences will become totally immersed in the IMAX with Laser 3D presentation, digitally re-

mastered using proprietary IMAX 3D DMR™ technology… grasping at falling snowflakes, ducking as the train screeches into their lap and feeling the howl of the steam whistle via IMAX’s next generation digital surround sound.
