HOLLYWOOD, FL - The Hollywood Hills High School Lady Spartans flag football team will kick off the 2014 season on February 17th at 12:00 am at the first midnight flag football practice in BCAA history. The practice will take place at Hollywood Hills High School located at 5400 Stirling Road Hollywood, Florida and parents, friends, alumni, and invited guests will be in attendance.
Florida High School Athletic Association rules allows teams to practice at 12:00 am but Hollywood Hills is the first flag football program to take advantage and actually schedule a practice at midnight.
"This is a great way for our team to bond and do something different by kicking off what we hope will be a fantastic season. I've received calls from alumni and former players who all want to help and be a part of something like this, and we're hoping this is something these young ladies will never forget." stated head football coach, Brandon Graham.
Senior quarterback Janice Solis stated, "I've never heard of this before, but when our coach suggested it I couldn't wait to tell people we were doing it. I think it's something that we'll be able to remember and use as a bonding experience for the entire season."
"I think it's a great opportunity for the girls to have fun and motivate them to kick off the season," stated Hollywood Hills principal, Lourdes Gonzalez.
