FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Children’s Home Society of Florida has named Julie Schneider executive director of the Intercoastal and Southwest divisions, which serve more than 1,800 children and families in Broward County and more than 2,500 children and families in Southwest Florida each year.

Prior to joining Children’s Home Society of Florida, Julie served with the South Carolina Department of Social Services for six years, most recently as the Beaufort County director of social services. She also served as the program director for Darkness to Light, Inc., where she managed an international group of facilitators for the child sexual abuse prevention program, Stewards for Children. With more than 25 years of experience providing services to children and families, she specializes in training and educating professionals, children, families and their communities in the areas of child welfare, child sexual abuse prevention, therapeutic interventions, and alcohol and drug abuse/prevention.

“Julie’s passion for others fuels her desire to help children and families each day,” said Cherly Scully, Children’s Home Society of Florida board member. “Her background and insight will be instrumental to our efforts in the South Florida community.”

Schneider received her Master of Science in Organization and Management from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York, College at Cortland.
