FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The ARC Broward Culinary Institute, a nonprofit catering service providing a food service training certificate program and job training to individuals with intellectual disabilities and other life challenges, is taking orders again this year for its famous “take-home” gourmet Thanksgiving meals. The meals are prepared by students, providing them real-world experience and skills to succeed in a professional kitchen. Proceeds support job training, placement and student scholarships.
 
Thanksgiving meal packages serve 10 to 12 people and cost $109.99. Each meal includes a choice of a freshly roasted, fully-cooked turkey complete with gravy and cranberry sauce, or a mouthwatering spiral ham, and trimmings such as baked yam casserole, scalloped potatoes, traditional herb stuffing and a homemade pie of the buyer’s choice.
 
Established in 2006, the ARC Broward Culinary Institute offers an Entry Level Culinary Arts Certificate Program, and also provides competitively-priced catering services for a variety of occasions including weddings, cocktail parties, business lunches and more. ARC Broward Culinary Institute is one of three mission-based enterprises operated by ARC Broward, a not-for-profit human services organization dedicated to providing services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and other life challenges. Each of these mission-based enterprises provides job training and employment opportunities while generating funds to support programs and services.
 
Thanksgiving meal orders are being accepted through Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 and will be available for pick up or delivery. All buyers have to do is heat, serve and enjoy their delicious feast. Meals are also available for purchase if individuals or companies would like to feed families in need through an organization of the buyer’s choice.
