FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - All treated water samples collected yesterday from the City of Fort Lauderdale's water distribution system have passed stringent water quality testing. The results continue to indicate that water leaving the treatment facilities and flowing to the customers is safe and not affected by the e-coli that was recently discovered in a raw, untreated sample from a ground well that has been taken out of service.
In an abundance of caution, the Florida Department of Health in Broward County continues to recommend that the precautionary boil water advisory remain in effect for water customers in the City of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Oakland Park, Port Everglades Authority, Village of Sea Ranch Lakes, Wilton Manors and sections of Davie and Tamarac (East of State Road 7/ 441).
The City continues to monitor and test the ground well that was taken out of service in consultation with the Department of Health. Below is a notice that the City is required to disseminate in accordance with Department of Health regulations as a matter of transparency with regard to the findings from additional tests performed on the raw, untreated water from the ground well that has been taken out of service.
