FORT LAUDERDALE – The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and AEG Presents bring stand-up comedian Tig Notaro to the Amaturo Theater on Sunday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Notoro has evolved from doing absurd bits to acute stand-up following a transformative time of tragedy and loss in her life. Notaro's now-legendary "I have cancer" and topless sets put her on a path of cult icon status and critical acclaim. This New York Times bestseller author, Emmy Award and Grammy Award-nominated comic brings her heartfelt storytelling, deadpan delivery, silliness and honesty to audiences.
Originally from Mississippi, Notaro writes, produces and stars in the semiautobiographical comedy series One Mississippi. The Television Academy has acknowledged Notaro with an Emmy nomination for her HBO standup special Boyish Girl Interrupted. Her Netflix Original documentary, "TIG", premiered to critical acclaim and is available for streaming. Audiences can also see Notaro as “Barb” on Amazon's Emmy Award-winning series Transparent.
