FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Humane Society of Broward County is thrilled to host our first-ever men’s golf tournament on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club. Over 140 male golfers will get together for 18-holes of fun, friendship and frustration (it is golf!) to benefit the shelter. Players will be trying to hit the Longest Drive to win a new PING G20 driver; others will be sinking the Longest Putt and getting their ball Closest to the Pin to win other PING clubs as well. The Scramble format will help all foursomes stay competitive, regardless of their handicap. If you hit that wayward shot, no problem, Your Muttigan - Giving Pets a Second Shot, lets you do it over. Match your drive to the expert at the Drive Like a Pro hole. For a donation, the Pro will drive off the tee for your four-some. All players can still hit, choosing the best drive from all five to play their second shots from. The First Place Foursome will win bragging rights of being the BIG DOG and a ceramic CHAMPION cup to prove it. In addition, First, Second and Third place winners of the tournament will each win great PING equipment.
The event is being chaired by Melody and Ali Saleh and Cherie and John Marshall. Honorary Chairs for this event are BIG 105.9’s morning show team Paul and Young Ron, as well as the show’s sports commentator Dave Lamont. Dave will be BIG’s player representative in the tournament.
Sponsors dedicated to making this tournament a success are: Divot Happens®; Pet Pals (Meldeau & Collins Families); Bimini Boatyard Bar & Grill; Blue Martini; Gold Coast Magazine; Broward Design and Architectural Review, CopySource Incorporated and Big 105.9.
This event is expected to sell-out quickly so don’t delay, reserve your foursome today. Cost is $300 for an individual or $1,200 for a foursome. For more information about playing in the tournament and sponsorship opportunities please call Leana at 954-266-6818.
