FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, recognized as Broward County’s premier shopping destination, has launched “Take A Break Thursdays,” a progressive night of shopping to benefit local charities. The first “friendraiser” event will take place Thursday, September 20, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. to benefit Slow Burn Theatre, Covenant House Florida and FLITE Center. Additional events are planned for Thursday November 15 and February 7, 2019 and will benefit other organizations.

“The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale is pleased to launch this new ‘Take A Break Thursday’ initiative that invites shoppers to enjoy a complimentary evening out while supporting their favorite charities,” said Melissa Milroy, senior marketing manager at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale. “We’re grateful for the generous support of our retailers that will provide special offers and select food and beverage options to make for a fun night.”

While registered guests shop and take advantage of exclusive offers, attendees can also enjoy complimentary food and beverage options at participating stores: Ann Taylor, Bbungalow, Godiva, Michael Kors, Sephora and more.  A raffle with items from participating stores will benefit the three organizations. Registered guests will also enjoy special pricing on wine and appetizers at Seasons 52.

There is no cost to attend the event, but RSVP/registration is necessary. Check-in for this free “friendraising” event is located across from Swarovski. Guests are encouraged to register in advance with the charity of their choice: Covenant House (954-568-7914), FLITE Center (954-297-8848) and Slow Burn Theatre (954-323-7884).
