DR. NABIL EL SANADIHe lived to make this world a better place.

Born in Cairo Egypt, as a young man his family moved to Ohio in 1969. Nabil the son of Alfonse and Antoinette El Sanadi, became a US Citizen in 1974. He worked many jobs prior to turning to medicine where he found his calling.

Dr. El Sanadi graduated with honors in medicine and public health from The Ohio State University. He completed his medical residency and a one-year research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. El Sanadi earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with honors from Case Western Reserve University. He obtained his Master of Business Administration at the Weatherhead School of Management. Dr. El Sanadi who spoke four Languages so he could communicate better with his patients, obtained more teaching, Board certifications and Licensure than can be noted here. He is a renowned author of multiple publications many of which that have changed the practice of Emergency Medicine. He held faculty appointments at Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University and the University of Miami where his student’s education and compassionate patient care were the forefront of his teachings.

Prior to his appointment as President/CEO, Dr. El Sanadi was chief of emergency medicine for Broward Health. His compassion was not only for his patients but for the nurses and doctors that worked side by side with him. In January of 2014, he was elected chairman of the Florida Board of Medicine.
He served as the premier (EMS) medical director for Fort Lauderdale, BSO, Tamarac and Sunrise Fire Departments. He was a certified SWAT team member and SWAT Medical Director for Fort Lauderdale and Broward Sheriff’s Office where he trained with “the boots on the ground”. He also worked as a team doctor for The Florida Panthers and Miami Dolphins. His true love was for his wife Lori and she was generous enough to share him with all those around. He worked tirelessly blazing new frontiers in medicine every day for others to follow. He had a true gift that made everyone he encountered feel like they were the most important person in the world.

This servant leader who possessed a generous spirit of humility is survived by his loving wife Lori, along with son Douglas (wife Rachel) and daughters Caroline, Suzanne and Emily. A celebration of a life well lived is being held at First Baptist Church 301 East Broward Blvd Fort Lauderdale, Fl. 33301 starting at 11:30am.
