When pizza delivery isn’t feasible in the snow filled cities of Canada you may still get the ‘fix’ that the aroma of a fresh baked pizza gives off and without all the calories.

Some Canadian community managers at Pizza Hut posted a joke about bottling the smell of fresh-made pizza. Shortly thereafter a few thousand people with no life responded, saying they wanted some. Some simply posted “I’m smelling pizza now”.

Buzz Fleischman - Columnist Page. In a press release Pizza Hut Canada's marketing director, Beverley D'Cruz said “We’d love to sell the smell. The profit margin is like through the roof.”

As a result, Pizza Hut has rolled out a real perfume that boasts "top notes of freshly baked, hand-tossed dough” and sent bottles of the limited-edition scent to the lucky Pizza Hut Canada Facebook fans who requested it. For the rest, simply daubing your wrist on a cooled off slice will suffice. The company mentioned that it will not be responsible if you get a hot slice too close to your nose and burn it.

What’s next ‘eau de hot dog’?
Scents are a big business. People want to smell like movie stars, singers and sports heroes.
Britney Spears tops the Smell-O-Rama with 11 different odeurs of the day. Even Derek Jeter, the baseball player has a fragrance. One would only hope that for the lower end of the consumer scale it doesn’t smell like a locker room after the big game. Who would buy that?
