SOUTH FLORIDA -The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) invites the South Florida community to walk for a cure at the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. Fort Lauderdale Takes Steps Walk begins April 5, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at the Huizenga Plaza, and Miami Takes Steps Walk kicks off on May 3, at 9:00 a.m. at Bayfront Park (Promenade).

The Takes Steps walksare part of more than 150 Take Steps walks that are taking place across the country to support the more than 1.4million Americans (94,000 in Florida) that are affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Supporters are encouraged to create a team and help change the lives of the thousands of people affected locally. In addition to the Walk festivities, there will be free food, drinks, musical entertainment and kids zone featuring bounce houses and fun for the entire family.

Take Steps Fort Lauderdale begins April 5 with 9:00 a.m. registration, followed by the 10:30 a.m. walk start at the Huizenga Plaza located at One East Las Olas Blvd. indowntown Fort Lauderdale. Any registered walker who has raised a minimum of $500 by 9:30am on Ft. Lauderdale’s Walk Day (April 5th) will be entered for the chance to win a $1,000 Target shopping spree.
