FORT LAUDERDALE - Wingate Oaks Center will hold its 10th Annual Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from 6 – 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend the Community Resource Fair to learn more about programs and services for families of children and adults with disabilities and special needs. The fair is free and will be held at Wingate Oaks Center's cafeteria (1211 NW 33rd Terrace, Fort Lauderdale).

Several local organizations providing opportunities to improve the quality of life will be on hand to share information about recreation, employment, respite and other support services for individuals with disabilities and their families. Service agencies participating include 211 - First Call for Help, ParaTransit, The Broward Children's Center, The Ann Storck Center, Broward Parks & Recreation, YMCA Aftercare, UCP, The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (C.A.R.D.) and the Center for Independent Living.

Families requiring assistance with transportation can register with ParaTransit to arrange a ride to the event for one person with a disability and one caregiver. For more information on how to register, call 954-357-6794.

Free childcare and refreshments will be available at the fair. The event will also include a silent auction and door prizes for families.
