The 2011-2013 redistricting project, currently underway, provides for extensive public participation through a series of public hearings – one in each of the seven districts throughout the county – to inform the public about the process and requirements for drawing new School Board district map alternatives and receive input.
The next mapping workshop will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2012, beginning at 10 a.m., at Dillard High School, 2501 NW 11 Street, Fort Lauderdale.
The next scheduled public hearing will take place in District 2 on Thursday, May 9, 2012, at 6 p.m., at the City of Pembroke Pines Senior Center, 301 NW 103 Avenue, Pembroke Pines.
Public participation is welcome at each of these sessions. For additional information or to schedule a mapping appointment, contact Patrick Sipple, District demographer at 754-321-2480 or visit: (http://www.broward.k12.fl.us/redistricting).
