Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – The City of Fort Lauderdale is LIFTING the Precautionary Advisory for Water-related Recreational Activities for the canal located east of Bayview Drive between NE 29 and NE 30 Streets and a small part of the Intracoastal Waterway (see map below). The advisory was issued on July 24 as a result of a minor sewer overflow that occurred when a bypass pump being operated by a contractor working in the area malfunctioned.

The general boundaries of the LIFT area are as follows:

North: NE 30 Street

South: NE 29 Street

East: Intracoastal Waterway

West: Bayview Drive

The precautionary advisory has been lifted as a result of satisfactory test results.

Water-related recreational activities may be resumed in the area.
