Fort Lauderdale, Florida (June 13, 2022) -- Children’s Harbor celebrated a milestone 25th anniversary during the 9th Annual Harbor Lights Gala raising more than $165,000 for the non-profit agency that strengthens families in the community while providing safe shelter and support to teens in foster care so that they may grow into healthy, educated and productive adults.

Themed “Havana Nights,” the evening began in a tropical paradise with cocktails and cigars against the backdrop of the sunset on the rooftop lounge of The Conrad on Fort Lauderdale beach. Guests then moved inside for dinner and danced with live musical guest, Fondo Blanco, who brought the perfect blend of Latin and American music. The celebration continued at 10 p.m. with the Hora Loca after-party.

About Children’s Harbor:

Established in 1996, Children’s Harbor is a nationally accredited nonprofit agency with a mission to provide a safe harbor and support to at-risk children, youth, and families, keeping brothers and sisters together, strengthening families, and rebuilding lives. Children’s Harbor provides nurturing, family group homes for teens in the foster care system on a beautiful eight-acre campus in Pembroke Pines, FL. These loving homes allow brothers and sisters and teen mothers and their babies to stay together during a turbulent time in their young lives. Children’s Harbor also helps prevent child abuse through our Family Strengthening Program. Each year,

200 families across Broward County receive in-home counseling to improve parenting and communication skills.

Brown’s Harbor is the result of a collaborative partnership with the Selfless Love Foundation. Browns Harbor is a supportive housing community that offers on-site staff, training, and wrap-around support services for young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, ages 18-23, helping to bridge the gap from dependence to independence.
