Fifth-graders at Plantation Park Elementary School will learn first hand about the importance of healthy food choices when they visit their school’s neighborhood Whole Foods Market (University Drive and Peters Road) in Plantation for a shopping lesson in good nutrition. Whole Foods Market associates are providing a hands-on opportunity for the students to learn how healthy food shopping and nutrition go hand-in-hand in the aisles of a grocery store.
The students will shop on Thursday, January 11 from 8:30 – 11 a.m. for ingredients, which they will use the next day to prepare a nutritious salad to accompany a healthy lunch, provided by Whole Foods Market. The students will work in food stations and hear from representatives from Whole Foods Market on the proper nutrition as they prepare lunch.
