SOUTH FLORIDA: The Gold Coast Jazz Society (GCJS), in partnership with Pompano Beach Arts, invites the community to experience A Taste of Jazz, a monthly evening of music, history, and culture, at Bailey Contemporary Arts in Pompano Beach. The series takes place on the second Thursday of each month, beginning with the season opener on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:00 PM. RSVP is encouraged, as space is limited and often sells out.
A Unique Jazz Experience
This intimate series blends live performance, education, and wine tastings, creating a forum that welcomes jazz enthusiasts, residents, and visitors alike. Jazz is the heartbeat of American music, shaping everything from timeless classics to today’s hits, and A Taste of Jazz celebrates its enduring legacy.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for residents of Pompano Beach.
Music, Wine, and History
Each evening begins with a wine tasting from 7:00 to 7:30 PM, followed by an hour of live jazz from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. This season, jazz guitarist Martin Hand and the Gold Coast Jazz Quartet will guide audiences through the origins of jazz, its journey across America, and its transformation into the beloved genre it is today.
A Rich Cultural Setting
The event takes place at the historic Bailey Contemporary Arts Center, formerly the Bailey Hotel. Built in 1923, the venue is one of the oldest remaining buildings in Broward County and a proud anchor of Pompano Beach’s creative arts district. Guests often remark on the building’s unique atmosphere, which enhances the cultural experience of every performance.
