FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- June is National Adopt a Cat Month and the Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) has a special offer you can’t pass up. Adopt a feline, six months of age or older on any Friday in June and the adoption fee will be $5.00. During the summer, shelters all across the country are inundated with kittens and the teenage and adult cats are often overlooked. By offering this special price, hopefully potential adopters will give the mature kitties a chance too.

All felines will be spayed/neutered and microchipped before they leave the shelter. In addition they receive preliminary vaccinations, a feline leukemia test; a cardboard carrier to go home in; a limited 10 day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospital and a bag of Purina ONE food. Most importantly you are getting a friend for life! All adopters must meet adoption criteria and are limited to two felines for this promotion.
The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road and adoption hours are Monday - Saturday 10:30-6:30 p.m. and Sunday 10:30-5:30 p.m. The Humane Society also has pets available for adoption seven days a week at the PETCO in Boca Raton at 9960 Glades Road. For more information call the shelter at 954-989-3977 ext. 6 or visit www.humanebroward.com to see the pets available for adoption, learn about upcoming events or to make a donation.
